What are 实习?

While an internship is technically a “position of a student or trainee who works in an organization, sometimes without pay, in order to gain work experience or satisfy requirements for a qualification”, to students at Marist, an internship is so much more.

在圣母, we provide students with the resources to find internship opportunities that exhilarate their interests and inspire them to move forward and upward in their chosen field. 实习 enable students to take the fundamentals they have obtained during their coursework at Marist and begin to learn to apply them in a professional setting. With internships available right here in the Hudson Valley, 海外, and anywhere in between,re is a multitude of opportunities available to students.

在圣母, we believe that a liberal arts-based education helps students learn to think logically and creatively, to integrate insights from a variety of disciplines, and to effectively express opinions both verbally and in writing.  同时, we know that extending learning beyond the classroom is key to intellectual development and critical thinking.  出于这个原因, all of the academic schools at the College place a strong emphasis on internships as a key component of the undergraduate experience.

Through Marist’s robust internship programs, our students gain valuable real world experiences and contacts that prepare them for successful careers.  Of those students who graduated from Marist in 2017, 83 percent participated in one or more internships while at the College, and many credit them as a primary reason they landed their first job after graduation.  

Marist students from all academic majors complete internships at a wide variety of organizations, both during the school year and over the summer.  Some examples of the companies where our students have interned include Ernst & 年轻的, Michael Kors, Anderson Center for Autism, 哥伦比亚广播公司, 布鲁克林篮网, 摩根士丹利(Morgan Stanley), USAA保险公司, Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, IBM, TJX公司, 威瑞森, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), Marie Claire Magazine, Fidelity Investments, Madison Square Garden, Sony Music Entertainment, 乡村之声, 还有更多.

In addition, College offers specialized internship programs like Marist in Manhattan, Albany Summer Internship Program, Washington Semester Program, and the Tarver Summer Internship Program.  Graduate students in the MA in Museum Studies program at Marist’s campus in Florence also have the opportunity to complete internships at some of the world’s leading museums.  At the end of the day, Marist students graduate prepared and career-ready.
